'Albiflora'

(K. amabilis ‘Maradco’) Everyone agrees that Beauty Bush is spectacular in bloom but goes in hiding for the rest of the year. This is no longer the case with this new specimen with golden yellow foliage. For best performance site it in filtered or partial shade; Also unique to this clone is its splendid golden-orange fall color. Zone 4, 6-9 feet, gr 1,

'Pink Cloud'

(L. f. ‘Notbruce’ PPAF) A cool new shrub that will rock the perennial world. Imagine a graceful, easy growing plant with attractive, clean, bright yellow-green foliage with hints of red in the new growth. In mid-summer it is covered 4” long pendulous drooping clusters of dark purplish-red bracts and white flowers. Follow this with dark purple berries in autumn. It is a fantastic plant for the perennial garden or as a color item for the patio. In the north this is a dieback shrub that behaves live a perennial. Lonicera

(Lonic-era: after Adam Lonitizer, 1528-1586, German physician and naturalist)  

'Harlequin'   

(L. pericyclemenum) Cream, pink and dark green, irregularly variegated leaves. Wonderfully scented tubular flowers of pale rose-purple with a white to yellow lip from May to July. Can be grown as a low spreading shrub or trained up a trellis as a vine. Wonderful fall colors. Discovered in a private garden in Ipswich, England. Zone 4, 8-10 feet, Fragrant, gr 1, Full Sun

'Honey Rose'

Clusters of deep rosy red flowers and deep blue-green foliage that is resistant to Honeysuckle witches broom aphid. A new hybrid from the Univ. of Minn. Landscape Arboretum. Zone 4, 8-10 feet, Fragrant, gr 1, Full Sun  

Lonicera pileata ‘Moss Green’ A wonderful improvement in Lonicera pileata. We obtained this new, exceptionally rich green ground covering shrub from Germany. Magnolia stellata

Star Magnolia

Family: Magnoliaceae

(Magnol-ia: bears the name of Pierre Magnol, 1638-1715, botanist of Montpellier)

'Ann'

(Kosar f1 hybrid) Deep purplish-red blooms appear later than most magnolias, thus are less apt to get frosted. Big, lily-like flowers often repeat during the summer. A vigorous multi-stemmed large shrub with an upright rounded habit and clean foliage. Reported to be sterile triploid. Developed at the USNA. Available May. AWARDS: PSC

virginiana 'Henry Hicks'

The hardiest evergreen selection of Sweetbay with creamy white, lemon-scented flowers in May and June. A magnificant large shrub, small tree that tolerates shade and moist soils.
