 PINK PARASOLS®      Korean Spirea pp#15,397

 

An exciting ground covering spirea that has extremely large, parasol-like, blooms.

The blooms literally cover this low mounded shrub in early summer to create a remarkable garden show. The soft pink blooms float above the attractive blue-green foliage that is beautiful in its own right.

Noted for its outstanding orange red autumn leaf colors. 

Like other white selections of Korean Spiraea, Pink Parasols also has outstanding orange red autumn leaf colors.

Hardiness:  USDA Zone 4 

Bloom Time:  June 

Bloom Color:  Large clear pink blooms are a first for this species. 

Foliage Color:  Attractive bluish-green foliage

Fall Color: Superb mix of red, orange & yellow fall colors 

Size:  2-3 feet tall and and 3-4 feet wide. 

Exposure:  Full sun 

Soil: Tolerates a wide range of soil.  Easily grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soil. 

Pruning: Best if done immediately after flowering. To promote flowering, remove faded flower clusters (or deadhead).                               

Watering: Medium moisture.  

Wildlife: Butterflies 

Type: Deciduous  

Fertilizing: Fertilize in early spring by applying a slow release fertilizer specialized for trees & shrubs. Follow the label for recommended rate of application.  

Uses: Groupings or masses, perennial or shrub borders, specimen, informal low hedge or foundation plantings.

 A first for Spiraea fritschiana: pink blooms!  Long prized for its attractive fall color, this adaptable species is now available with fluffy pink flowers.  This is a nice alternative to the standard white blooming fritschinana.

Durable and adaptable to many sites, PINK PARASOLS™ is perfect for mass plantings.  The soft pink flowers are beautiful in the summer, and fall brings on brilliant orange and red foliage.
